Bachelorette Weekend

Sorry for being MIA last week. I spent most of last week assembling invites and getting ready for my bachelorette party this past weekend. Needless to say, my sister did a great job and we had a nice, relaxing weekend. Oh, and thanks to the future in-laws for letting us borrow their condo in PCB. Here are a few of my favorite pictures from the weekend!

Our door sign

My sister's beautiful cupcake display
Oh, and the cups in this picture I ended up making as a gift for all the girls that came. Tutorial post to come!

The pretty banner she and a friend made! Also make note of my creepy friends in the bottom right corner.

Of course I had to take a picture of the pretty napkins and my card

Chips and dip, chicken and cheese crescent roll-ups, and buffalo chicken dip. It's making my mouth water just to see this picture. It was all so delicious.

Our chocolate fondue we had for dessert the second night. Noms.

Told you she did a fabulous job. I couldn't ask for a better maid of honor!

Pool time

Hanging out on the beach the first night
My sis also made that sash!

Sisters

Our condo neighbors and all my girls

She loves me

My Auburn loves

Lingerie ;)

My awkward palm-tree. I'm truly the most awkward person ever

They wrote down my silly quotes while opening my lingerie and read them back to me as "What I'm going to say on our wedding night." So funny. Everyone should do this.

This was my reaction. I mean seriously people, you cannot make this up.

Beach day!

Drive to dinner

The group at Spinnaker's

Helping me make a crown out of toilet paper to cross off my list

The finished product

So there you have it! A little glimpse of my bachelorette weekend! If I post anymore, it'll give too much away ;) Now if October would just get here already! Hope everyone had a happy Monday!

Tutorial Tuesday #1

So, I've decided to try a weekly theme to help me stay motivated to update my blog and give it a little more organization. It may also help me branch out and post about things other than just crafts. I mainly hope this helps when school starts back in August. But for now, I don't want to think about school. As you can see, today is my first "theme" - Tutorial Tuesdays. Since this was kind of a spur the moment idea, today's tutorial isn't anything special. In fact, I've actually already done it before with my Muggle T-shirts

The BFF and I spent the last 2 weeks of school before summer making and re-making our summer bucket lists. We're slightly crazy, we know. The biggest thing on our bucket list was crafting, crafting, and more crafting. (Remember the last item on my summer bucket list post?) Mainly because we spent so much of our study time whining about how we would rather be crafting. So, here's to getting it out of our system.

After deciding our whole summer would be spent crafting, we also decided we needed appropriate T-shirts for the occasion. Why? Because we are super duper cool. That's why. See?

We got the inspiration from all of the "Keep Calm" posters always seen on Pinterest and in the blog world and used the same technique as my Muggle shirts I made for the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 premiere.  We were actually able to find and downloaded the Keep Calm font. I then used my Cricut and the Sure Cuts a Lot software I have on my computer. The only problem with this is that the SCAL only works with the hardware on the Cricut Personal (the first one ever made). Although, this was much easier than printing it out and cutting the font with an X-acto knife, the X-acto knife method will still work, but will require much more patience. Then we ironed the words on and went to painting.

And these were our final results!

I think we are all set to craft away the summer. What do you think?
Happy Tuesday!!

Today officially marks the first day of my last summer ever. I cannot express the freedom I feel knowing I don't have to study a thing for three months. It's fantastic. In honor of my last summer, I've made a bucket list. For all of the things I want to do/accomplish this summer. And since I don't have a new craft to show you (yet), I'm sharing my extensive list with you!

Photo Booth Props #1

I know I know. I'm pretty much the worst blogger ever.
Also, these past two weeks have been absolutely non-eventful.
I had my first GI test this past Friday. And it was killer. But I won't bore you with school stuff.  Since I had this weekend off, I spent it doing all things wedding and family. Today I just wanted to share one of my wedding projects I completed this weekend.

My plan is to have a photo booth at the wedding so I've started making/collecting random props. I saw these on someone's Pinterest and thought they were the cutest things.

And then, I decided I could make my own.

Mine aren't quite as cute. But that's okay.

Supplies:
Two foam fingers
X-acto knife/Self-healing pad
White fabric paint
Foam brush
Freezer paper
An iron
I used the exact same technique for these as I did for my Muggle shirt.
And this is how they turned out :)
And this is what happens when my crazy sister takes interest in my crafts.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Student Gift Basket

So for all of you that don't know, my fiance is a 2nd year in medical school. At the end of your 2nd year, you must pass Step 1 of the Boards to move on to your clinical year. I absolutely dread it. The MCAT was enough to make me want to pull my hair out. But anyways, he began studying a couple weeks ago and will take it April 19th.  In an attempt to be a good fiance and motivator, I decided to make a study gift basket.  I thought I'd share my ideas since they could be used for any devoted student. :)

I tried to keep it relatively healthy with the vitamin waters and granola bars, since he will be sitting at a desk for days on end. But, you have to have some unhealthy things...like his favorite candy! And we all know studying can be mentally draining, so I tossed in some headache medicine. It's necessary. I threw everything into a cheap plastic basket that I attempted to decorate the front of.

And being who I am, I felt the need to add a little cheesiness. So I made "coupons." One was for a coffee date, one for a running date, one for a neck massage and one for help cleaning (and by cleaning I mean, like, taking the trash out.)

Some other ideas I thought of after the fact were:
Coffee (he has a ton coffee), a stress ball, notecards, highlighters, postits, B12 pills for energy, and notebook/folders.

I don't expect to see him much these next few weeks. Ha.

Happy Thursday!

Spring Break

Sorry for being MIA the past few weeks

Last week was my Spring Break and the week before that was the week of my Pulmonary final (really just a pretty terrible week in general). Needless to say, the blog got pushed to the bottom of the priority list again. I spent my break in South Carolina with my grandparents and sister. My sweet, tough ol' grandpa was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer the same week as my final and my sister and I decided that Spring Break was a perfect opportunity to visit them and try to help keep them optimistic.

My 23rd birthday was also during the break and we celebrated with a baked spaghetti dinner and the most delicious cake! By the end of the week, the three of us girls had eaten all but, like, three pieces. I should really go run.

I got pretty birthday flowers, too!

The last day of my break was spent taking engagement pictures (finally)! That day also marked one year since our engagement. Coincidence? Overall, the week was great and I am so fortunate for the time I got to spend with my family. I'm officially back into full swing and preparing for major studying this module: Gastrointestinal (better known as GI). Mmm. Yay digestion.

Oh, and I promise to have craft post real soon!
